This book is a stroke of genius! Pirates, fantasy, charismatic characters, so much spirit in the lead, Fiammetta. I adored her madly. Plot twists planted with care and a gripping story that keeps you on a knife's edge. I found it funny and irreverent even when it tackles burning subjects, interesting and original. I read it with so much pleasure. The prose flows beautifully, the ending was a bombshell that left me completely satisfied. I can't wait to read the next one.

Surprise and wonder reading this book, the first of three! It literally made me dream, got me on edge in places, and somehow even moved me to tears at times… Anyway, straight on to Un Bagno di Sangria!

If I could give it 10 stars, I would. I loved the entire trilogy from beginning to end, devoured the books in a matter of days, perpetually torn between “I don't want it to end” and “I have to know how it finishes.”

Of all the Italian fantasy authors, Titania Blesh is hands down one of my favorites, one of those writers I'd never tire of reading.

Ragtag pirates, creative insults, brilliant old women, repressed inquisitors, disastrous plans, pyrotechnic explosions, evocative settings, Spanish chorizo… and last but not least, a protagonist who is, to put it mildly, one of a kind, and one I never get tired of.
